Ochazuke is a very popular dish to finish up a meal with in Japan, and it is made by pouring green tea or delicately flavored soup stock over a bowl of rice.

It has been a popular fast food for commoners since the Edo period.
In modern days, people put various toppings of their choice, including umeboshi (pickled plum), pickled vegetable, salmon, nori (dried laver seaweed), tuna sashimi and ikura (salmon roe) to make it a luxurious meal.
